On the Wednesday the 16th of January members of the WRA set out with members from the Wyndford & District Community Council to grit the paths for the snow that was forecast for the coming Friday. As it turned out the snow ended up moving south, and nothing fell. Not to worry, as it was good practice, and we realised that it take us a lot less time than we thought it would to grit the estate. We’ve also asked the Council to move one of the grit bins nearer to the sheltered housing complex.
We’d like to thank GHA and Cube Housing for donating £50 towards equipment and salt (as well as a place to store our equipment), and Tesco for giving us some salt and snow shovels. Carol Lang from Glasgow Community & Safety Services has also provide a lot of support, and information.
